Except any kinetic counter UAV system is going to be even more effective against a larger, squishier gyrocopter.
I would be confident taking on a slow moving autogyro with an M240, moreso than I would a Raven orbiting overhead.
It's not going to be highly survivable, but it's (probably, almost certainly) not intended to orbit around town and target designate or anything.
They're going to fly them around like a flying jeep to have eye balls on your flanks and ahead of columns. You use it to find the bad guys. You don't
hang around afterwards.
UAV's have a very narrow field of vision. Two pairs if eyeballs cover a lot of ground compared to a seeker ball. UAV's also can't smell a campfire, or
hear a mortar firing, etc And lives and autogyros are both cheap in China. No need for a large, expensive UAV tied to a ground unit for that purpose.
You can also run messages and orders between ground forces when the radio bandwidth is all being jammed and your lines for field phones have been cut
by artillery, etc
You can definitely hit aircraft with small arms fire, but it's not easy for a single guy with a LMG. The trick is to coordinate continuous fire from
multiple sources of small arms fire into a relatively small block of sky and let the aircraft fly into it. A single guy with the LMG has to lead a
target moving in three dimensional space that he doesn't have the speed or distance for. It would certainly still be vulnerable to small arms, but
that's true of helicopters, motorcycles, and light scout vehicles as well. True of almost aircraft at low altitude, really.
