CHARGED WITH.
So let me get this straight... A state senator uploads child pornography from his home to a public website without thinking it could lead to his arrest, and then has child pornography found on his phone, where he presumably made no attempt to encrypt it. I'd believe this story a lot more if it turned out that the FBI had to spend several months jumping through hoops to try to work around this guy's cyber-evasion tactics... But someone being arrested for uploading child pornography to a public website from their home and then keeping said child pornography presumably unencrypted on their personal phone is way too convenient.
It's not like certain people aren't in the business of trying to accuse their political opponents of sex crimes, pedophilia or racism, just to get them out of the way.
I'd also like to know what the nature of the "child pornography" was. Was it a single picture of a selfie shot taken by some girl the day before she turned 18 that she uploaded herself, or was it a 5 year old being brutally raped?

Let the legal system figure it out as it's meant to.

Interesting that the letter (R) changes how you view this story. Sounds like programming.

Interesting moreso that you chose to point it out in two separate places.

It doesn't change my impression of the story. I said in my post (which you conveniently glossed over) that he needs to be in jail if guilty, not in political power. That goes regardless of his political affiliation.

It does change my opinion of your OP. I looked to see if he was Republican or Democrat, yes, but that's why I noticed the bolded '(R)' you apparently could not resist including. Then as I read your statement, there it was again, as though bolding it in the excerpt wasn't enough. What you just did by those actions had no bearing on the story, but it did point out to me that you are not at all interested in what harm he might be doing to children, but rather what harm you can do to a political party, children be damned.

So now I have two people I can look at with disgust.

So they find pics on his phone and that makes him an instant pedo?
If he is? Hang him.
But - is there a way someone could have put those pics on there just to make him look bad?
Just wondering.

That is why we have innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charged is not equal to guilty. Regardless of who it is...

Well, except maybe Hillary Clinton since she is so Teflon she is never even charged. LOL (it's a joke people...don't get all triggered now).

imo ANYONE who messes with kids should burn
especially child killers

Well certainly. I'm just saying I'd rather have my kid murdered than molested, and I think most on here would agree with me.

That post is an echo extremist religions around the world, where children that are molested or women who are raped are treated as damaged goods and ostracized and even murdered by family members rather than helped.

I don't want to know any poster who agrees with or ponders such things.

I created a thread that was informative without pointing out any political party only that he was a senator from Pennsylvania.
And I put it in RATS because of the subject matter.
But this one came first.

About thirty miles away from where the state senator lives, a township policeman was arrested for child porn last week:

CUMRU TWP., Pa. - A high-ranking police officer in Berks County is in trouble with the law. The FBI on Tuesday arrested Cumru Township police Lt. Timothy Woll on criminal charges related to a child pornography investigation, according to the U.S. attorney's office in Philadelphia. The investigation began earlier this year, after Microsoft alerted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to numerous images depicting child pornography being uploaded to a OneDrive account, according to the criminal complaint. The Berks County district attorney's detectives reviewed the images and identified Woll as the person who uploaded them to the OneDrive account, according to the court documents. The DA's office handed the case over to the FBI, which executed a federal warrant to search Woll's home on Shakespeare Drive in Spring Township on March 14. Agents said they seized a desktop computer and an external hard drive. The same day, agents went to the Cumru Township police station, where Woll agreed to speak with FBI agents about their investigation. He told them he could have accidentally "dragged and dropped" the files to the OneDrive folder on his work computer as he cleared away evidence from an adjudicated child pornography case that his department investigated, according to the court paperwork. The agents said Woll had no explanation for how the child pornography was uploaded to his OneDrive account from his home IP address. A forensic exam of the hard drive seized from Woll's home turned up approximately 300 thumbnail images that appear to be from deleted video files of child pornography that were previously on the device, according to the criminal complaint.

WFMZ TV
That cop was putting cuffs on people two weeks ago.... damn hypocrite.
Note that MicroSoft was instrumental in catching him.

I will also add this: the deepest, darkest level of Hell is reserved for those who hurt children. But in that deepest darkest level of Hell is an even worse pit, reserved for those who hurt children over politics.

Tumbler tipped off authorities when he UPLOADED the pics to his account presumably sending them to someone else.

His only public statement since the news broke was by an "agent of his Attorney" who said he has been "Going through some personal issues"...Which doesn't sound like a denial of any kind.

The article included (R) and he was in fact a Republican. I attached no correlation to that, but you apparently did.

It doesn't change my impression of the story.

Then you must have misspoke when you opened your post with this?

You know, I would take stories like this a lot more seriously if you didn't bold the (R) in the excerpt and then repeat it in your statement.

CLEARLY you take the story "a lot" LESS SERIOUSLY due to the fact an (R) was present? You words, not mine.

Don't blame me for your programming. Perhaps reflect.

Absolutely horrific that this man was re-elected 4 times, served 16 years as (R) Senator for PA's 48th district.

Its horrific that this man exploited children; I don't see the relevance of this action in relation to him being re-elected 4 times and serving 16 years as (R) Senator for PA's 48th district.

It would have been equally horrific if this man was simply a Doctor, a Lawyer, a Banker, a Plumber or an out of work hairdresser.

Not everything is about politics.

The only professions that I think would make this more horrific would be ones where the person has direct contact with kids.

It’s quite clear he doesn’t have a problem with the story being reported on because the guy was a republican

He has a problem with you going out of your way to focus on that point

Why did you bold his political affiliation? But t seems that is what you felt was the lost important thing to highlight, not the alleged crime

Thats what is being criticized

The fact you are playing dumb when it’s clear your intent was to make this partisan further impugns your character

This is getting kind of interesting.

There has been a strong push by Gov. lately for Social Media companies to monitor and alert law enforcement of illegal activity.

Tumbler and MS tipping off police about pedophiles in the span of week?

Might be an emerging new normal.

You know, I would take stories like this a lot more seriously if you didn't bold the (R) in the excerpt and then repeat it in your statement. Whether or not the offender was Republican, Democrat, or whatever is irrelevant except as a curiosity. What matters is the child porn charge. The dude needs to be in prison if guilty, not in power.

Is your point that (R)=bad man or that a politician was charged with such a heinous crime?

TheRedneck

It's easy to tell if the story is about a (D). They just never mention that part anywhere.
