Description
Ansonia Rosalind Iron Mantle Clock. Black enamel on cast iron case with gilt incised filigree, has a concave hourglass form with a molded portrait of a French woman on the sash and gilt figural winged angels on the sides. 5 in. dial with black Arabic numerals; brass 8 day spring driven movement with strike signed Ansonia Clock Co. In overall good condition. 12 in. High x 15 in. wide x 5 in. deep.

I was just going to try and be comedic and say "The bit with numbers on it is called a face, and the big hand tells you the minutes past, and to the hour, the little hand tells you the hour" or something along those lines, instead I was amazed by the awesomeness of my fellow ATS members!!

The clock works perfectly, Dad just insisted on removing the pendulum while it is in transit. It seriously needs professional cleaning though. Found a faded piece of paper inside the clock that says in 1982 it was estimated to be between 75-100 years old. You will get to play with it soon enough! lol!
