Sure it's not high in my list of places I want to go and experience, there's plenty of wild here in oz and going to stay somewhere like the Sahara just gives me the Jurassic Park kinda feel, stuck in a small vehicle seeing the world through a window just doesn't do it for me, I'm just more of a touchy feely kinda guy.

I say this with respect. But, a lot of perspectives on this thread demonstrate limited global experience and travel. That’s perfectly okay and I recognize not everyone has those opportunities, but also such individuals should realize they may not know or have fear based on the unknown and media coverage.

I have traveled across Europe and the mid east, but my comment on Africa stems from regular stories since the 80s where tourists were kidnapped and held for ransom.
