King Kong Bundy dead at 61

Total bummer.
Bundy was a man I loved to hate.
Another piece of my childhood gone...

Bundy is from a time when wrestling wasnt just ballet with mussles.

He was going to do an autograph signing with Al Snow.

I heard he was every bit as nice as Mick Foley when kefab allowed for it with the fans. Not a particular favorite of mine in the ring. But I’ll be the first to admit that I never had anywhere near his agility even as a kid. And we would take some Snuka inspired dives off the top of the swing set.

Bummer.

Sad news. I believe I had one of his LJN WWF Wrestler Figures when I was a kid. RIP big guy.

RIP Big Guy, thanks for the memories.

I'm actually from that town. He was a friend of mine's, grandmother's neighbor. We took that to mean that we were welcome to stop by his house unannounced and say hello. He was a little surprised but super nice. Invited us in, gave us both t-shirts and the old Starting Line-up style action figures. This was in '98 so a bit after his prime but we thought it was the coolest thing.

Seems 60ish is the going rate for wrestlers for some reason. Is there something else going on as to why most seem to die pretty young?

I imagine his size took toll on his heart but I'm guessing.
As for so many other wrestlers, drugs are the cause.
