Why to people make such a big deal when you hit 40... like im supposed to feel completely different from today at 39?

So... whacha doin tomorrow?

Well first off, im calling in sick... they begged me to come in!!

Oh come on, we'll get Pizza and wings!!

Sure, so I get to bust my ass at work... and you know they're gonna sing that bloody birthday song... which I hate

Or I can park my ass right here and drink beer and play some VR poker.... hmmm... tough call

considering I haven't had my birthday off in like 10 years... and this is supposed to be a special one... heh right

The only people that make a big deal about birthdays are ones that need the attention to make them feel important.

40s has been so far a wild ride. 39 I was feeling great...then by 41, I felt my entire body was falling apart..now a few years later and back on top of my game...but thats only because I accepted I am no longer a teen and so did the diet (keto) and exercise thing. Gotta make changes, but if you do change with the times enough, it is gonna be fine...arguably great as you can no longer fool yourself into thinking you're still a kid and can eat or do whatever without it having an effect.
