Silly Question about....

This week saw POTUS speak to the US from the Oval Office, and then Pelosi and Schumer gave a response.

Here is my question, why is Schumer there? I understand Nancy, she is speaker of the house....Schumer is only Minority leader in the senate. Why is it not Pelosi and McConnell meeting with Trump? Trump is giving too much weight to Schumer...yes we need 6 Dem votes, but Mitch can get that without Schumer if he tries.

Well they are both kinda like little kids. So obviously the one that can go “oh mommy” is going to be the one that is there.

Schumer is there to catch Pelosi if she collapses, lol. If she stumbles on her words he's there to fill in the blank. These politicians are getting to old and both sides are set in their ways.

You aren't the only one to wonder this. I've read several news op-eds saying that McConnell is acting less like a leader and like the negotiation broker he once was and is now just kind of turtling down.Politico says it's odd, given his role as a dealmaker in previous shutdowns

He's talking the talk... sort of... and not walking the walk. He seems to be turning it over to other people.

And Schumer is there because he represents the Democrats in the Senate. Pelosi is the Majority Leader of the House; Schumer is the Minority Leader of the Senate. Any bill has to go through both houses.
