I always thought that the way weather forecasts are presented in the US is ridiculous. It's a technical subject that can be explained in clear layman terms or in technical terms, mixing the two only makes people look like they are talking about things they don't understand in a way nobody understands.

I do use the old system of looking at sky and watching how the birds are flying, the direction they turn to when they land on a high place (specially seagulls), etc. When I do need a more accurate forecast I look at the Portuguese weather and sea institute, the one responsible for the official forecasts in Portugal.

I'm a fan of AccuWindow, and for long-range forecasts, there's AccuBack.

Oh man! Thanks so much for this thread, and for all the suggestions from everybody. I've been living in the land of hysterics with all those other folks.
