I give you my newest theory. And it is that Putin is still a communist and he and Trump have deliberately crafted themselves into the ultimate (Living, breathing) strawman to demonize capitalism.

If you thought Trump seemingly defeating the entire political establishment seemed a bit incredulous, you may have been right.

Yes. I am saying that I believe Trump is a communist. And always was. And that he has deliberately spent his life playing the ultimate villain. The one thing socialists hate more than anything. An obnoxious rich man.

Is it really so hard to believe that a man who spent the majority of his life in the KGB would not just suddenly change his spots in his 60s?

That's exactly my point. They have made more headway since Trump has been president than they have in decades. Trump has all but destroyed the Republican party and that was all that was in the way of the socialist/communist agenda. IOW, Trump is (in many ways) a socialist's wet dream come true.

Why should I need any evidence? It's just my opinion. If I knew it for a fact, I would have said so. Right? If you think it's silly, you think it's silly.

I think it's kinda silly but I wouldn't have believed they'd seriously put Trump in the White House so really. Nothing would surprise me much.

They haven't made any headways, all they have done is become more open about their position. They're desperate and are trying like hell to stay relevant, but look at all the social programs that had been running unchecked by the US Government. Those programs are now being reduced and in some cases eliminated, so it doesn't seem like they are making any headway.

I guess you really don't need any thing to back up your opinion, but having some basis for your formed opinion is always great when talking about an idea.

Propaganda has always been the communist's preferred weapon of choice. You may not have noticed but when Trump does away with those social programs, he is being the ultimate bad guy so the left can swoop in and come to the rescue. They are, of course, going to let their heel kick butt for a while so he gets the liberal base all riled up and really hating him. That's what heels do best, right?

I do have some basis for it. Suspicion. That's good enough for me. One thing is for sure. The left wasn't going to get it's global socialist utopia without some pretty significant instability, confusion and turmoil. I don't think we've seen this kind of an uproar in this country for a very long time.

He's also got a big personal PR department to make sure his public persona is top notch. All that has not stopped him becoming a macho gay icon though.

The Russia that Putin leads has no semblance of communism, except the political repression, broken judiciary and media control. Oh, and the very well-off protected elite supported by nepotism and corruption.
