Durango authorities said there are survivors., but no word on any deaths. AeroMexico said the plane that crashed is an Embraer 190 regional jet with a capacity of 100 passengers. The governor of Durango told Mexican TV the plane was taking off in bad weather and the pilots tried to abort the takeoff, but couldn't in time. The governor said the plane went down after the runway.

Hopefully All survive!

The airline confirmed on Twitter that the plane suffered an "accident" but further details on the incident, including if anyone was injured or killed, were not immediately clear.
The incident involved Flight 2431 aboard the Embraer 190 aircraft, which has a capacity of 100 passengers, according to Aeromexico.

From the pic at the source, the tail section looks to be damaged but intact, however it looks as if everything in front of that may be gone.

Damn Burgh, I find it hard to believe there weren't any casualties after seeing that pic of the crash. Unless it lit up after everyone got out, and that very well could be considering the plane as a whole is still intact.

Been to the ole doggery lately?

Depending.. you have a minute to evacuate an aircraft this size. 2 mins or less for larger aircraft. Once they catch fire, they go very quickly. Don't know if this skidded off the runway or stalled. But everyone got off quickly it would appear.

This was an Embraer ERJ-190.

Reading there were no casualties...that's pretty impressive.

From the picture it was a runway excursion and fire. The witness descriptions don't match what the pictures are showing. This should be interesting.

You'd be surprised. That actually looks very survivable to me. It's basically intact. Just looks awful. With the cabin more or less intact you're looking at a (,relatively) low-energy event despite whatever burns afterward.

About what you'd expect from an aborted attempt that overruns the runway. Fingers crossed for the crew and pax.

Thanks for the update. I was beginning to think that the jet didn't have passengers onboard. (On it's way to pick up some)

Per a Mexican news outlet the wing/engine hit the ground on takeoff due to heavy wind gust/bad weather....

That makes a lot more sense than crashing after takeoff and the description of how it crashed that was put out yesterday.
