Amazon and Netflix are pretty solid right now. I hope to see Google and Apple go down, but that's only because they own their markets with crappy products, in my opinion.

The market can ALWAYS turn on a dime.

I keep expecting Amazon to split.

The only thing that will get rid of Facebook and Twitter is whatever social media is next. The concept is so ingrained in people at this point it might as well be a brain implant. Like an implant without an implant.

We’re also about to see the first generation of people who have their lives from birth to death chronicled on social media. How weird it’ll be in the future to be able to look back over someones life with photos, videos, and personal messages. How long before someone makes an encyclopedia of people?

Exactly. Facebook/Twitter aren't invincible just because they were the first to explode as social media platforms. In fact, I think it makes them more vulnerable in some ways.

Once someone finds a way to drastically improve upon the idea of Facebook, FB will go the way of the dodo (think myspace).

As for social media acting as an "implant", there's an episode of black mirror you've got to watch if you haven't already!

What's weird for me to think about is that millenials will be the last generation to spend a childhood without the whole social media thing. The 90's and early 00's seem like a completely different world... Maybe cuz they were. Personally, I preferred that timeline.

You're right about that. Why do you expect Amazon to split though? Their service is in high (and growing) demand, and they don't really have major competitors. Plus, their video-on-demand service is growing as well. They have decent premium content already.

It's over priced out of reach of many investors.

I just looked it up though, Bezos has no plans.

It is pretty expensive, but their earnings absolutely destroy expectations regularly.

Also, yesterday Trump threatened to launch a criminal investigation of Twitter over their shadowbanning and censorship of conservatives. That might have spooked investors.

Says the President who was blocking Americans from his tweets and had to be ordered not to.

I have an idea, if he's concerned with Twitter and their policies, why not boycott them?

I'm wondering if 1919 means anything? Or 1 9 1 9

Number 19 is mentioned 6 times in the bible. 2 x 19= 66.

Will there be a third 19?

Well, all told it actually dropped by over 20.5% by the time the closing bell rang.

Good to see.

Their "fake accounts" are largely conservative voices they've chosen to intentionally suppress.

I wish them nothing but total failure. Their shareholders should punish them dearly for this typical socialist authoritarian BS move.

Good bye FaceBook/Twitter

USENET was available since the 1990's. Many people just thought those comments would be lost forever, but they had actually been archived by various corporations. You can look back through the archives and see comments going back 30 years now.

There was a guy called Kibo who would join any conversation whenever his name was mentioned. He had a scanner set up just to do this sort of Google searching way back then.

The standards for calling someone a "fake" or a "bot" are ridiculous. I've had my account labeled a bot. Basically if you don't use the service the way they think you should, you're a bot. In my case, I hardly ever tweet my own content, I mostly just retweet people I follow. I also only check it once or twice a day, so I retweet a lot of things at once. That gets me labeled a bot. That's absurd.
