I'm really surprised I'm the first to mention runaway self-replicating nanites. That's my biggest fear going forward.

The idea of being alone for eternity stuck inside my head with all the remorse, fears, sorrows and knowing something is there that I can have no part of... that's pretty damn scary to me. Scarier than 'nothing at all'.

Welcome to my life..

Common - heterosexual people are a myth.

I've never seen a single fossil that convinces me heterosexuals actually exist.

All nonsense and spooky tales.

Like the myth that women can actually be attracted to men
What rubbish, why would anyone be attracted to their oppressor?

I have no fears.

OK, maybe becoming the drooling old man sitting sideways in a wheelchair that smells like feces, but that's not exactly planet-destroying.

Why fear something one cannot control?

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” — Frank Herbert

It generates money, and what's good for the economy is good for us.
We'll have to work your fears then, you piece of work!

ahh the death of the ecosystems so its all slow and painful for us to endure as the earths life dies off !

at least with ELE or Nukes its over pretty quick if you are near the blast zones, or at least quicker if you catch a dose of radiation and die within minutes or hours

but the worst would probably be a slow death like the sun being blocked by volcanic eruption and all the animals and plants die and we all die slowly

but I am pretty certain that will never happen and we will survive and live on for eternity in peace with our environment and with each other !

Is it possible to destroy the earth? If we
destroy our world that doesn't mean
we've destroyed the earth. But destroy
the earth and it destroys our world for
sure. Only in recent years has man even
realized it was possible for him to destroy
the earth. So there must not have been to
much fear of such going around until
recently?

And yet I submit for your scrutiny
this one verse from the NT. And I
rarely quote the Bible.

" God will destroy those who would have
destroyed the earth".

The verse lays claim to the possibility
and suggests there are those out to
accomplish the destruction.

Not a bad assertation from a bunch a
goat herding desert vagabonds.

Could not do it with nuclear weaponry but if were we ever to produce a significant amount of antimatter, and the containment failed, that could theoretically produce enough destructive force to crack the core of our planet or even vaporize our Earth and possibly also a significant portion of the rest of our star system.

Chilling any way you slice it. One might
even conclude God was right after all.
Being reluctant to grant this kind of
knowledge. When it would make us the
loose canons we are today.

Well, we were apparently created in his image.

Suppose we could argue that free will is responsible for our predicament, yet science has proven such to be a fallacy, and the big dude's plan does seem to imply a heavy measure of predestination.

A slow pitiful decline into a new dark age, where everyone becomes more and more hopeless with out knowing why, or what to do about it.
Give me a nuke rather.
