I've searched and couldn't find much info but I was just curious after seeing President Trump flying around on the news while he's here in Britain.
Does it come over on a ship? Can it refuel and cross the Atlantic? Are there lots of 'Marine One's' at US bases around the world including the UK?

Anyone in the know I'd be interested and grateful. Also what is the double bladed helicopter which flies with Marine One? Are the armed?
I'm suprised they don't shadow the president with an Apache.
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the short questioning thread.

Oh wow, cheers guys!!

Interesting reading ahead, nice one.
What about the helicopter shadowing Marine One with twin rotors? Is it armed? Does it go everywhere with Marine One?

Yes, have a look at www.wearethemighty.com... can be folded up into a C-5M Super Galaxy. Full of kit. The others are US Marine Corps Osprey support aircraft. Londoners say it feels like they're 'under attack' as the huge fleet of helicopters accompanying President Trump on his visit swarm around the capital (all the helicopters are armed - if one crashed in a built up area could be messy)

The upgraded C=5 is one awesome aircraft. I love watching the short takeoffs and landingsss on youtube. (No offense to the C-17)

Marine 1, Air Force 1, etc...are just planes and helicopters until the president gets on board. Then it becomes "1".

Back in 2003, I installed DirecTV on Marine 1. One of the coolest jobs I have ever done. And Marine 1 was not even there. I was escorted by 2 MP's, I think their hands are glued to the handle of their gun. Later that year, it flew overhead at a location I was working..escorted..I knew Bush was on it, watching the system I installed!

CERN opened a wormhole to transport this unit. Its by far the fastest and safest way to travel, but the cost will be thrown on the backs of US taxpayers no doubt.

That was so 2 years ago. Now they teleport it there using Trump's Time Machine.

I was fishing a lake near Salisbury when Obama flew over in his helicopter with I think 2 Ospreys in tow. I am used to Chinooks and Hercules coming over at low levels but these things were seriously noisy!

Realize there are 2 helis and 2 sets of limos, 2 transporters, military fighters...ALL traveling with Presidential Entourage around the world everywhere and everytime he goes...

I'm not positive...but last I heard...every trip carries 5-800 people, pilots, secret service, news, advance teams...drivers, cooks...and an undisclosed # of Navy Seals and Army Rangers among others

Yes plane Marine One is transported via C-17 Globemaster or C-5 Galaxy military transport planes (as is the president's limousine) wherever the President travels

The MV-22 Ospreys are refuelled across the Atlantic. They stopped in Lajes, Azores before continuing to the UK with their C-130 air-refuelling support.

Landing at RAF Northolt, UK.
