People in our country are very often forced to work more hours than they want, or not take their breaks, or do two jobs at the same time so the company can save money. There are lawsuits all the time about it for example Walmart has had several.

Not to mention most people would rather work less hours than they do if they could afford it, but our corrupt, overpriced capitalist system gives them no choice.

During the early years of our country, the majority worked for themselves with all the fruits of their labor going to themselves.

Today, that has been reversed where the majority work to make others rich.

The tired old saying that you can leave the company no longer works, since you will be going to another company serving the same masters on wall street.

Where are the majority of the shoes made?
In countries like China where labor is cheap under communism.
Unions are banned in Communist China.

But yet capitalist have no problem getting in bed with them if there is money to be made.

It has less and less to do with what economic system we have and more to do with using any policy to make money.

Washington DC is infested with corporate and banking lobbyists which tells us how much they hate capitalism and competition.

No objective analysis of current distribution of wealth, relative to workload or effort, suggests that preparedness to work, intelligence, applicability of that intelligence, are equal routes to success in business or work more generally, when compared with luck and absolute ruthlessness.

Now, there is a time for ruthlessness, but the only time for that is when one is armed to the teeth and intent on revolution. In war, in battle, in an ACTUAL fight, yes, obviously ruthlessness is not only helpful but necessary and justified. But it must NEVER be permitted to allow a person success outside of those aforementioned realms, because outside of those, it is a mark of bad character, and bad characters should not get ahead.
