If you were worried about fake news...this might interest you.
For me,this is very scary!!

Imagine seeing a video of you on the evening news, saying you were happy about that massacre you committed.
Meanwhile, you spent the day at home innocently shaving your Llama.

A new tech is making it possible to......SAY ANYTHING!!

New technology on the internet lets anyone make videos of real people appearing to say things they've never said. Republicans and Democrats predict this high-tech way of putting words in someone's mouth will become the latest weapon in disinformation wars against the United States and other Western democracies.

The tech is so good that it is hard for experts to spot it.

We're not talking about lip-syncing videos. This technology uses facial mapping and artificial intelligence to produce videos that appear so genuine it's hard to spot the phonies.

It hasn't been used yet (to our knowledge) but the article does say this.

So far, that hasn't happened, but experts say it's not a question of if, but when.

Whoever gets this tech will have a lot of power in their hands and it WILL be a matter of time IMO as well.

"This technology, I think, will be irresistible for nation states to use in disinformation campaigns to manipulate public opinion, deceive populations and undermine confidence in our institutions," Grotto said. He called for government leaders and politicians to clearly say it has no place in civilized political debate.

There is a lot of food for thought in the link to the article,as they bring up elections, disasters and celebrity smearing.

www.cbc.ca...

Think of the tech and the ramifications for a few minutes?

What are your thoughts??

Trump was ahead of his time. Calling fake news out, getting us primed for more fake information.

Really though, this is scary and will screw with many who really want things to be their way. (see also-everyone)

It reminds me of the movie Running Man.
They manipulated the video and audio to make the character look guilty and then threw him to the dogs with his "guilt"

Scary indeed.

Haha...

As if the Western governments and media isn't the pioneers in this kind of digital era media manipulation!

I'm glad you caught that!!
The source has a habit of spinning things IMO,so I didn't want to add that part in my OP for obvious reasons.

I was hoping we could discuss something other than Russia,Trump etc etc.

Who is to say it hasn't been used in some place on the planet already??
How would we even know??

You are right - how do we know?

Actually, shouldn't we downright presume it has been used?

This technology by far has the most power before the average media consumer realize it exists.

I don't believe that such a powerful tool has not been in use. And we saw the first public demonstrations of this sort of technology more than a decade ago, so it is not like 'they' haven't have time to put it into good use.

I wouldn't say he was ahead of his time, a good portion of
of a certain demographic, such as ATS members, have been screaming that the MSM has been BS for years, even decades! The late, great Jim Marrs being one of them.
Trump was definitely the first person to let the world, and all of the MSM know that he wasnt going to be manipulated, intimidated, or bullied by these story spinners. In turn, more people are doing their own fact checking and calling these spades, spades after falling for their garbage propaganda for years. (Which i think is great)

Honestly, after all these bs stories just a couple weeks ago with the ICE detention centers/family separation ''news" (or as we all know now, propaganda) stories, people don't need to see a digitally altered statement/speach from ANYONE! If a "reporter" tells them something that fits their paradigm they dive in head first. Like the video (video of just an audio recording) of the little girl who was, "looking for her mommy..." While crying, or the great job done outting the liars at Time magazine with their bs "story" of the kid "seperated from her mother", later confirmed to be 1000% bs by the actual Mother mentioned in the"story".
Those pieces of propaganda got a whole lot of people falling in line right where the MSM wanted them. Being nothing more but extra mouthpieces and puppets for the MSM's false narrative. People were so caught up in the lies, they probably believd that Trump himself was tackling, cuffing, and incarcerating children, because CNN, or CBS, or whoever told them so. Yet when they found out it was NOTHING BUT LIES, they were not outraged about being media puppets at all. They didn't care that they spent a good week being so enraged that they had to spend all day on their social media accounts to let others know about the HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE things that Trump was doing, and reposting and spreading the propaganda for the MSM shills. Instead They just casually picked up the next drum the MSM told them to beat and went on their way.

So the 'lip syncing' software is probably going to do more good for the MSM as a form of insurance and protection for themselves, so now they can pull the ol', "thats not what I said!!! Look!! Look!!! I CLEARLY said this, not that!!!"

S&F for fighting the good fight. Information IS power.

Scary and we're already seeing it.

Just look at how the message is being manipulated in the media regarding Trump.

The only thing Trump has done that has impacted Americans is that he has lowered taxes.

That's it.

But if you ask 30% of the population, they'd tell you that Trump has stabbed babies, eaten kittens, shot cute puppies, and spit on the American flag.

It can and probably is being used against us now.

There's been a number of high profile deepfake porn vids of celebrities on PornHub as reported by several watchdog groups and news outlets. I checked one of them out before it was taken down and couldn't tell the difference from casual observation.

I had the funny feeling we were being told this exists around the same tell high-level DNC members were being accused of illegal actions as it was going to be used as a possible excuse for them.
"They didn't do it, it's fake video!"
