The U.S. does not have a "state news agency"
Whats Fox News then?

Seriously though, is anyone else seeing 3 distinct teams forming in World Politics at the moment?

The US, Japan, Australia and Britian

Russia, Iran, Syria

China and North Korea

Ive got a "what if" scenario that kept me awake last night thinking about.

What if Russia and the US are in the process of orchestrating another Cold War based on the bringing down of Iran? Putin and Bush have spent many a cosy night at his ranch previously but now they are completely distant with Russia closing itself off.

If Russia backs Iran/Syria militarily then an attack on it from Israel and the US would result in the downfall of the Iranian government with Russia there to pick up the pieces in the region.

The US Administration would get its beloved Cold War back with a common enemy for the World without having an extremely expensive War on Terror with a phantom enemy.

Russia would have gained Iran and Syria in a neo-Soviet Union and would probably retake Chechnya without having to appease the Americans any more. They could also reinstate Soviet Era control on their public and crush the organised grime thats rotting Russia from the inside out.

That leaves the Chinese who are in on the plan or not. They absorb North Korea and after the US are finished in the Middle East we see the Americans move to Japans side in the Pacific. With Russia massing its Army to its East on Chinas border.

Maybe an attack on China from both sides?

Just my mind working overtime, something to think about in a purely "what if" scenario.

I not too sure about the China / North Koean one for a few reasons:

1) North Korea can and will do its own thing. Like the first Korean War. China did not want the elder Kim to invade the South but he did anyway. Then they had to bail them out.

2) If North Korea say lobs a nuclear weapon at the US/Japan/Aus at the very best the US would start sending B-2's loaded with bombs and the very wost, drop a nuke of our own. The fallout would contaminate a huge part of China.

3) North Koreas failure to heel at the request of China has two conclutions IMHO.
a) Chinas influence ofver Kim is very slim at this point
b) China is the puppet master for a game we have not seen yet. (This is less likely IMHO given Chinas superpower quest.)

There is no future with aligning yourself with North Korea.

IMO - we have 2 toddlers going at it - Kim and Bush, and Bush is the bully who started it.

Time for some grown-up intervention I say. Enough already.
.

How exactly did president Bush start anything with Kim?..... Were our relations with Kim any better when Clinton or any other president was in office?.... Kim was the same years ago as he is now....

Don't forget France. They have to be lumped into the category of terror sympathizers.

France would come under the EU/US side

China would invade North Korea then. Maybe trying to take over S.E Asia.
