Deliberate Hit and Run in the Rose City, Ore.

A blue SUV Tribute, has mowed down Portlanders both in a crosswalk and then on the sidewalk, near a school in the Rose City. Its a hit and run, with a damaged SUV, now leaking coolant. Drudge picked this up, and it's breaking as the search for the Perp goes on across town.

Plenty of eyewitnesses, including one bearded dude, who jumped out of the way. He says that the criminal driver gunned his SUV, trying to kill him, but missed.

Thanx, it's sobering to see a little turd like that mobilize a SUV into a robust killing machine. Probably only his check engine light coming on, prevented further hit and run crimes. Automobiles are indeed "deadly weapons". And any little pipsqueak fool can aim them at people walking down a sidewalk, or in London, across Westminster Bridge. At least, here in Portland, no one got tossed off, into the Willamette River.

Police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson told reporters an older male was taken into custody and officials are investigating whether he was the man behind the wheel in the morning. Simpson said the man complied with police orders when he was pulled over.

Simpson said police are not looking for any other suspects. The intersection at 16th and Glisan should be blocked for the next couple of hours, he said.

James Aldred, an administrator at Secora Rehabilitation of Cascadia, said the man police arrested was a patient at the facility who moved out May 1 when he finished physical therapy.

Aldred said the suspect, whom he wouldn't identify, suffered from delusions and potentially had a history of mental health issues

Doesn't sound like a young person did it.
