If folks would just read the article they link to instead of just the title
ATS would be better off....

Unfortunately I think we've all been victims of not reading thoroughly lol, but yeah. People see anything bad about Trump or Hillary (or anything possibly connected to them) and they rush to get it posted. One cant deny ignorance when they are willfully being ignorant.

From the "Breaking Political News" thread:

The court document notes that van der Zwaan said he “did not know why an email between him and Person A in September 2016 was not produced to the Special Counsel’s Office” and that his last communication with Gates was in August 2016. It also says he claimed that his last communication with an unidentified “Person A” was in 2014.

Sounds pretty trivial to me.

As one lawyer recently put it (about the Mueller probe), the problem is that they are not investigating a known crime ("collusion" itself, even if it occurred, is not a crime), and collecting evidence in order to prosecute a person or persons for having committed a crime...instead they are investigating people, in hopes of finding crimes of any kind that they have allegedly committed.

What do they have so far? Multiple "lying to the FBI/Special Prosecutor" charges. Financial crimes related to business activities from years ago - and unrelated to the supposed reason for the probe.

The truth is that virtually every person on the planet, if they become the subject of a personal probe of all of their activities going back an unlimited number of years, can be found to have allegedly done "something" illegal - and if they can't find that, they will be able to find inconsistencies in a person's recollection of distant past events (in comparison to what someone else's recollection is)...and thus be able to charge them with the crime of lying to investigators.

Trump is right. The Mueller probe is a witch hunt, going after people and charging them with random "crimes" in order to pressure them into giving up - or making up - something that would lead to confirmation of the non-crime of colluding with Russia during the election campaign.

The hillarious thing is that it has been confirmed that the DNC/Hillary (along with some former GOP primary challengers), did in fact conspire and collude with Russian operatives in order to have a "dossier" of dirt on Trump produced...in order to affect the outcome of the election. It is also common knowledge that the DNC colluded with people at the Ukranian Embassy in Washington for similar reasons.

Sessions should never have recused himself - or if he really felt that would be the only appropriate course of action given that he spoke to Russian people as part of his duties as a Senator, he shoul dnot have accepted the nomination to be AG. Rosenstein, Comey and McCabe were allowed to run wild chasing the "Collusion Delusion", because of this recussal, and have made a complete mockery of the U.S. Justice System.

Having said that, in all honesty, the FBI and DOJ's reputation were destroyed long before November 8th, 2016...thanks to the afformentioned figures, plus Lynch, Holder, Obama, Rice and others - things like Fast and Furious, the IRS assault on Conservative groups, Uranium One, Bengazi, Hillary's emails (including the destruction of thousands of subpeonaed documents).

I expect that a fairly long list of folks will eventually end up with real charges, for real crimes, out of all of this. But in the meantime, the sentencing of some guy for fibbing (or forgetting) is hardly worth crowing about.

Divert away. Tick tock....

Interesting you chose not to answer the question.
This putz lied to the fbi and withheld emails and he got a fine and jail time.
Are you for equal justice for others that lied to the fbi and withheld emails?

But but Obama Clinton!.
Deflection incoming.

You did know that the case was referencing 2012 - 2014 , correct ?
Hmmm...
2012-2014. Who was in charge then , pray tell ?
I keep saying , I have a firm belief Mueller and company are feinting to mislead on what the investigation is truly about...

Yeah I was just about to quote this from the other thread:

Van der Zwaan was charged by Mueller’s team with making false statements to investigators in an interview about his time working for a law firm hired by the Ukraine Ministry of Justice in 2012, when he helped produce a report on the trail of Ukrainian politician Yulia Tymoshenko.

Once again this has nothing to do with Trump.

Please don’t confuse the Left with facts. It’s so cute when they turn red (er), point, and scream Russia, Russia, Russia, all the while still thinking (and defending) that HRC was the most perfectest US Presidential candidate since the estabishment of the Republic!

When you are afraid that Trump may get tarred by his associates, attack the left with straw man arguments and bring up Hillary. That's worn way too thin. The only connection this has to Trump is that Van Der Zwaan was a cut out between a Russian agent and one of Trump's staffers. Trump is not directly implicated, so why the hysteria?

If they commit a crime they should do the time. Will you be chanting "Lock him up! Lock him up!" if it turns out Trump took Russian bribes?

You might consider reviewing the definition of a straw man argument. Really odd you bring up hysteria, when the vast majority of the hysteria on these boards comes from the Left and their desire to control others (well, at least control those few things they think the government should control for everyone).
