I think everyone needs to take a deep breath here and realize that sometimes Trump spews stuff out of his mouth that gets dropped later. Someone will probably talk to him tonight and tell him that even mentioning delaying due process will piss a whole lot of people off, and he'll drop it like a hot potato.
