i think they put an end date because their cycle of time is done. when we leave earth time is different, other planets have different times. i think they knew that, if they did know that, there cycle would end around now for future time sake if space exploration. we do a cycle now for the suns distance, not a prediction just an observation. lol i think their cycle is a prediction because i have no evidence of star alignments or where earth is located at a specific time to reconsile our time in a galactical scale lol

So time isn't time anymore?

What are you talking about.

So there is no more day and night?

weeks, months, years, processions, etc?

They based their calendars on how celestial objects moved, hence why the long count is around 26000 years, the same time it takes to do a whole lap of the zodiac or something like that.

No, we orbit the sun, which creates cycles of 1 year.

Distance has nothing do cycles.
