Oh great. As if the forests aren't diminishing enough already. Just stick to real steel, and recycle it. No need to hurry up the raping of nature any more. The direction should be the other way around.

Agreed. If you could make it from scrap wood, look out! Also it sounds like the equipment required to produce the material would be cheaper than a smelting setup.

Right, I can definitely say I don't know enough about nanocellulose to reliably determine how it's going to evolve.

But I can say that in the decade I've been hearing about it, it has went from yeah but what is it good for and how do you make it in anything like useful quantity to edging into practical applications territory!

For a "new" material that is stunningly fast.
