Kinda surprised he didn't also say drawn and quartered... my how times have changed !!

Nothing new about those kind of threats. Those treats are standard by Turkey officials and co. The incident you are reffering it´s a desparate reaction about our Defence Minister who paid tribute to the Greek crew who died on Imia (1996). Turkey considers Imia their own while Imia are in Greek Territory. In an attempt to provoke further, they tried to stop our Defence Minister to pay tribute to the Greek soldiers who died on Imia.

They first tried to create an incident :

More specifically, the Turkish coastguard -GG that moved within the National Spatial Waters (the Turks claim to be their own territorial waters) collided with the Navyphoros Naval Force Navy, which made a planned patrol in the area and approached Imia following the patrol of the Turkish Navy "Köyceğiz".

Despite that incident our Defence Minister paid tribute as he does annually.

MFA Panos Kammenos, accompanied by A / GEN Vice-Admiral Nikolaos Tsounis, kept the tradition and this year, he threw a wreath at the Imia Sea in memory of the three dead officers of the Pontifical Police, the Deputy Panagiotis Vlachakos and Christodoulos Karathanassis, and the initiator Hector Yalosopou which fell during the execution of the duty, in Imia on 31 January 1996.

Yes.
It’s mosrly for domestic consumption in Turkey.
Take into consideration that the war in Afrin is not going so well for Turkey, nearly two weeks in and they’ve gained only 3%. It’s embarrassing for them.
The Germans are also withholding crucial upgrades for the Leopard tanks because Turkey is using them against the Kurds.

So they need an outlet to distract their people from the reality.
Unfortunately that outlet is usually Greece.
When it’s not Greece it’s Cyprus or Israel or America.

It’s the usual bluster and hot air from Ankara. A little more childish and immature then usual.
Turkey knows if they want to take any islands THEY will have to start that war. Greece got provoked many times by Italy in WW2 before the fighting started. The Italians even sunk a ship or two in Greek ports. Trying to incite a reaction to justify their attack to come. Greece didn’t take the bait, and today it isn’t taking Turkeys bait.
Look how it ended for the Italians, humiliation.
Greece and its people have been around for thousands of years. Ain’t nobody worried about Turkey and their stupidity and its stunts.
