The sanctions are crippling North Korea. They are cornered but they have ONE card left to play.

Thats the South Korean left wing government.

Already there is friction between the south korean government and the USA. The south Korean government seem to want appeasement rather than a hard line that the USZ are taking, plus they are upset over the Anti missle system installed (idiots). They are also very anti Japan.

This new charm offensive by North Korea I think is a attempt to drive a wedge between the USA and South Korea.

Its a long shot but if relations between South Korea and the USA sour enough, south korea may very well tell the USA to pack there bags and piss off......

And thats when the North will strike as they will have a fighting chance at this point.

Any way, thats my theory and its only a theory, but it seems thats the only way forwards North Korea have to go.

I'm sure they will buy as much time as they need to advance their nuclear weapons and ballistic missile capabilities through "diplomatic" strategies to engage with the south and ultimately attempt to coerce them into a deal that is in their best interests... OR ELSE!

The south might ultimately conclude that if they want to live without a constant threat of attack from the north they will have to make concessions. Leading to a kind of reunification under joint rule, with a severed alliance between the south and USA.

NK wins.

But it's just a theory.

Seems sound. I mean the best thing for NK right now would be if the USA baked off.

I don't agree that the north would take that moment to strike. More likely they would just work out some trade deals with the south and continue there missile programs.

Not gonna happen.
The US needs South Korea to be in a perpetual state of war with the DPRK in order to SELL More military equipment. Cuz money. Shareholders who want money must be satisfied.
Kimmy boy probably owns stock in all of the US MIC stocks...he'd be a fool if he didn't.

Warlords buying stock and then starting wars so that the stock goes up. That is a truly terrifying thought.

Hmm, I feel like we all win if this is how it plays out.

The only way forwards is to sour relations between SK and NK and then attack SK....Nostradamus doesnt need to worry about you taking his place any time soon! Do you think that NK want to take over SK - they arent worried about SK they are worried about the US and invading SK even without the US there will lead to their annihilation.

If they are so upset at the anti missile shield why did they allow the US to install it, or do you think that America can do anything in South Korea? You see people upset because those who are not upset dont go about and complain.

What South Korea wants, is not to have a war with NK, but they dont want to be taken over either, the missile 'shield' is the last stop, think of it like regular risk assessment:

1. Eliminate the Risk
2. Substitute the Hazard with something safer
3. Isolate the Hazard from people
4. Engineer out the risk
5. Reduce exposure to the risk through administration
6. Use PPE

Problem is this:

1. Means war or effective sanctions (all parties enforce)
2. Regime change (war) or China pulling something
3. Hard to do with a nuke
4. Cant un invent the bomb
5. Discussions like we are seeing
6. Missile shield, gas masks and bunkers.

Only problem would be the huge multi National corps.

They won't be seen doing business with Kim. So will look for greener pastures. This would leave a united Korea reliant on themselves to a large extent.

Russia etc have their markets in place.
China will just get the diagrams and reproduce 'stuff' ...

North Korea....
Why don´t you guys arrive in the presence.
Turkey, Erdolf is fooling your tools in the ME, the kurds, is threatening the "U"S(if you don´t leave your bases and stop supporting the kurd with weapons, it might be possible that "U"S soldiers die), that NATO "partner" turkey is terrorizing syria and the kurds with an illegal war of aggression. With german tanks, while "we", the germans, sell the milans to destroy these tanks, to the kurds. Guess we "learned" how to pay both war parties, learned it from the Rothschilds of this earth.

The "U"S leaves the kurds now alone. Like: Well, you did what we needed you for, now look how you will survive. The Moor has done his duty, the Moor can go. Just because the "U"S needs the geostrategic important turkey for their own world domination dreams, since ever. That´s why despots like Erdolf can do whatever they want, break every international law they want. As long the "good ones" profit from such despots and their inhuman actions.

The maybe "good" thing is, Turkey makes no progress since they started their illegal invasion. They couldn´t make any signifanct progress in invading a 40x60km area, they are stuck. Maybe this is the effect of Erdolfs purges, the jails are full of competent soldiers and the "soldiers" now, that drive the german tanks for example, are grey wolfes/bozkurt, turkish nazis. And the relicts of al quaida/al nusra, now called FSA, free syrian army. The first picture i saw was a tank commander showing the grey wolfes hand sign while driving his tank, and all these "turkish" soldiers "suddenly" grew big beards, almost over night...

And you guys really still talk about the North Korea story, that red herring?

Nothing. Nothing will happen. Nothing will ever happen with North Korea. Red Herring. Pay attention to US subterfuge in Syria.

So a little perspective from the NK view. NK was the first government in Korea to be formed. The russians helped them establish a viable government before the US did anything with the South. As a result, NK leaders and police began enforcing communist laws on all of korea. Well the south who some leaders had worked with the japanese and were well off didnt like communist seizures, one party rule etc. So they went to the UN, the UN said there needed to be a vote, NK said no we already had a vote, UN had the US do a vote anyway, and the SK government was established. To the NK, the Korean war was a civil war fought over territories that was already there's. The moved in quickly knocked out SK forces and controlled most of the peninsula. Until the USA sent troops in with the agreement of the UN. They were supposed to go just to the 38 parallel, but instead took the NK capital, and beat them back to the Chinese border. Thats were the 100,000 Chinese volunteers came in, supported by china and Russia. they beat the US back hard, then the US used air support to slowly beat them back to the 38th again. That is where we are at today.

In order for NK to do anything, I think there needs to be a commission setup like South Africa. Further, the Unified Korea would have to accept a communist party. so the Constitution would have to be redone to do so, and third, there would need to be amnesty for all NK leaders. All that is needed before NK unifies. As the reality is if they ever lost power, they know there days would be numbered. We had that potential when the new leader came in, but he has done his own horrible stuff. I don't really see it happening now. That entire country is geared toward making him happy. Would you give it up?

Peaceful unification has as much chance of happening than the USA electing a sane decent president.

Its never going go happen.

Kim wont surrender or stand down, he is being forced into a corner and the only way the North can get out of this is if they can drive a wedge between the USA and South Korea.

I don't think so. But I do look for some kind of terrorist attack or provocation from the north. The most probably would be kidnapping of athletes or celebrities attending the games. It wouldn't be the first time the North did that.

They will never strike anyone. It will sign their death warrant. No more Kim, no N. K.

Parking lot.... But having his toys is just giving him leverage... We are still at a war-truce there for over 50 years..

Nothing but threats from grandpa Kim, daddy Kim, and now baby Kim.

And so it goes. It will continue as is for another 50 years. The biggest losers are the NK people who have no choice than to worship their leader as if he were a god. They'll continue to suffer while the rest of the world bickers in comfort. Russia and China are to blame for the situation as it is.

If NK and SK were to reunify under a communist/socialist government, do you see that causing a mass exodus of refugees from SK?

Where would they go?

Would the US accept SK refugees with “open arms”, or would the fear of possible infiltrators from the North, using the opportunity to sneak into the US to spy, and maybe sabotage, result in “extreme vetting” measures?

Or would their family ties overpower their ideological fears and cause South Koreans to remain in place after the reunification?

Would that decision give rise among Americans as to the “loyalty” of Koreans already living in the US; as occurred with those of Japanese descent at the start of WWII?
