Our governor is a dem.

And your state legislature is republican controlled. There's no blue trifecta in Virginia, that's why it's sort of a big deal.

Virginia is a blue state and he will have to answer to them.

Outside of NoVa, Richmond, and Tidewater, no it is definitely not a blue state. The only reason it's gone from predictably red to purple or, at most, light blue is because of what amounts to about ten counties out of the entire state.

Agree with you. I have a lot of family in VA and everyone of them lean right and certainly feel outnumbered in NoVa. It used to not be that way and I believe the mast exodus from longstanding liberal controlled states like NY, PA, NJ, and MA have turned VA and my state of NC to purple. Damn our good weather! Except here lately, I believe those folks brought the winter air with them too!
