BUT HE DED FROM SEEING KISSING MALES! SURELY!

no, he won't.
It was unexpected for me at first sight, but not that anyone around said "uuuuh, stop that!". Bc we do not thump on bibles and such here around.

Do you have any evidence to suggest children being raised by same-sex couples end up being "scared"?

That you even have to ask that shows your inability to see things from another's perspective. try it through the eyes of a 12 year old child, who just lost both parents. They have enough on their plate without having to learn an entirely new social structure. Yes, some would be petrified.

That's a very weak appeal to emotion fallacy if I've ever heard one.

Same sex marriage bill passes in the senate.

www.theguardian.com...

he Australian Senate has passed a same-sex marriage bill, the first marriage equality bill to pass either house of federal parliament, succeeding where more than 20 previous attempts have failed.

Two weeks after the announcement that 61.6% of those who participated in the unprecedented national postal survey voted in favour of same-sex marriage, the Senate passed the cross-party bill unamended.

The bill will now go to the House of Representatives, where it is expected to pass easily next week, fulfilling the Turnbull government’s promise to facilitate a marriage equality bill in the event of a yes vote and legislate the historic social reform before Christmas.

So SSM is looking closer to reality.

About time.

And it passes, same sex couples can now marry, the same as straight couples.

Hooray.

mobile.abc.net.au...

Same-sex marriage will be legal in Australia, with Parliament agreeing to change the Marriage Act and end the ban on gay and lesbian couples marrying.

About bloody time.

Thanks mate!

No one learns from history. We shall see.

But the mud-slinging rather than careful thought will see a repeat of our past mistakes.

But ... we have to be PC and agree with them or ...

we get labelled. So label away folks.

Chances are 358 is probably a solid character, and at the pub over a beer we'd probably find heaps of common ground, but when it comes to the gay marriage issue 358 is displaying bigoted opinions, regardless of their dependability in the trenches.

They have also never actually stated their opinion, only said that they are proud of voting "no", because of some undisclosed "personal experience", and some undefined "past mistakes".

Do you agree that same sex marriage should be legal?

What history are you referring to that we need to learn from? Gay marriage has never been legal before, so it can't be that.

What mud slinging are you referring to? Are you referring to being called a bigot?... because that isn't mud-slinging, it is the fact of your opinion... and define "careful thought", as I think your concept of "careful thought" is actually just your opinion... oh, and what past mistakes are you referring to again?

I am one of the most un-PC people around, but I do believe in diversity and equality. You don't need to agree with me, but if you don't want assumptions to be made, you have to clearly state your position using reasoned arguments, not just keep referring to some vague "personal experience" and "mistakes of history".

You haven't actually ever stated the reasoning behind your opinions, so without the data, assumptions will be made based on your choice to deny a subset of society equal rights.

Based on the available data, you are coming across as a bigot.
