The US Navy did a test of a prototype hypersonic missile and announced such a day or so ago. This missile is intended to be launched from the Ohio class guided missile submarine.

The Chinese apparently felt the need to state they too are testing hypersonic weaponry or tech that will lead to a hypersonic weapon. To that end, they released images of their boost glide test article, the DF-ZF.

We have been working in a boost glide. However, ours is shaped differently, iirc. OTOH, idk what the 1960s boost glide warheads/test articles looked like.

This sounds similar to something I read the other day about Chinese space drones.

I wonder if they're the same thing.

No. Those are high altitude UAVs, that honestly won't be extremely useful, but sound great on paper. If you read the article carefully, the more you read of it the less impressive they become.
