I think we are in agreement about wondering, possibilities and the imagination aspect being present from very early on. And I acknowledged that.

There clearly has been a natural inclination for humanity to believe in a higher power, alien life or something else beyond our physical world.

But going back the original quote. ... given all our worldy affairs and how we are here for such a short time, we cant possibly be depressed or afraid if other life didnt exist because we have everything we need in occupying ourselves with human/worldy affairs... never a dull a moment... we die..then someone else is born to experience it all again ... and perhaps building on the achievements of mankind.

This is going off topic... but im a religious person... I believe in a higher power... I would be afraid and terrified of a god didn't exist when it came time for me to depart this world. As I'm dwelling on a life beyond this one...and how ive lived mine. But if aliens didnt exist it wouldnt impact me either way, if a God did exist I light have a chance at a new life to be reborn elsewhere.

Sorry if I went OT but these points are relevant in some sense. If Aliens exist then yeah w can definitely be excited and then maybe terrielfied as well..as it can either impact our way of life positively or negatively .. independence day

I saw an advertisement in the Job Centre a few years ago for a “remote teleport technician” or something like that, I think down on the Lizard peninsula in Cornwall. I still have absolutely no idea what it entailed, but it probably involved satellites. I didn’t bother applying, I didn’t feel that I knew anywhere near enough about teleporting across the universe.

It remains my dream that, in my lifetime, we will confirm life exists off world... Because a single celled alien would confirm what I've always known: we are not alone...
