Van hits people on london bridge

Just breaking

Police are responding to reports a van has hit pedestrians on London Bridge in central London.
Witnesses have said that armed officers are understood to be at the scene after a white van hit pedestrians.
The Metropolitan Police say they are dealing with an incident on the bridge.
Transport for London said the bridge has been closed in both directions due to a "major police incident".

I am not familiar with British police jargon but I take it "major police incident" is going to be more than a motor vehicle accident or a car going out of control accidentally / from a medical issue and hitting pedestrians.

I am used to working motor vehicle accidents while armed so that didnt cross my mind.

Man on skynews saying he is military (ex?) And he heard alot of gunfire about 10 minutes before the london bridge incident. He says it soundes lile fireworks but he thrn relised it was gunfire. Again this was 10 minutes before. Also another man saying he was 10 minutes feom london bridge and there was a injured man on the floor there. Its still early but this could be that 1 incident. Shooting, stabbing and van on pavement
