What technology can stop a nuclear weapon in any meaningful manner through?
Missile defense and anti missile, missiles are all well and good but once those warheads are on the way back down they are also traveling at
hypersonic velocity and very hard to intercept.
Might get away will lasing the warhead but focusing and maintaining the beam for the required amount of time to damage or disable the device would
indeed be near on impossible.
Particle beams apparently pack more punch but just as with lasers atmospheric conditions and the ability to focus the beam on target and maintain it
there also play there part.
I mean i get where you are coming from, for every offensive technology we develop, someone somewhere will also develop a defense or defensive
measures.
But against these type of new hyper sonic systems there aircraft carriers would present no more of a problem than shooting fish in a barrel so why
build 10 very large easily interceptable targets?
