Just a thought to tie this in with where things are going. I do feel that what they WILL do rather than what they HAVE BEEN doing is the true path to the control they want (but don't quite yet have).

Consider the ability to infect technology with monitoring and interception malware, to record and store information, to manipulate data to certain ends for public or law enforcement perception.

Now consider that it is 2030 and sub dermal chips have been rolled out to a substantial portion of western populations. Our 'tech-savvy' youth being enthusiastic adopters of the trend as it allows great interconnectedness between all elements of your lifestyle. Store your credit data and pay for things with a sweep of your wrist, enter events or board transport with the same sweep as it details your ID, msg friends and colleagues with the voice-recognition software linked to your VR headset.

Now consider it is 2030 and you are unhappy with the latest laws passed to further criminalise dissent. You are unhappy that lrage portions of space around your local city and its air transport hub have become private land policed by security guards with the power to detain. You have explained this unhappiness in messages to your friends and plan to attend a protest about these things and the constant erosion of your freedoms.

Suddenly, there appears to be a problem with your credit as you can't buy food or travel to work - weird, that's never happened before. You go to the local economic activities centre to find out what is going on. They scan your ID and ask you to wait. Two guards come out from somewhere in the back - ooh, wonder what's going on. They converse with the assistant who dealt with you and then approach, 'Please come with us, citizen'.

This surprised me not one bit however i recall alot of mac users who laughed about the last vault 7 release. Well who is laughing now. Seriously though why does a fridge need Wi-Fi for example? Technology should be used to benefit the world and make it a better place but instead we are spied on by everyday household items. The sad part is like the first batch of info. This is going to be widly ignored and the majority will just shrug this off again. Being on social media and signaling virtue against Trump and Russia are far more important. This is just sad. Orwell was right all along i wonder if he could have been a time traveller and tried to warn us of things to come but we didn't listen.

The idea of giving a fridge wi-fi was that food item packaging could have RFID tags with sell-by dates. The fridge would then tell you when items were about to go off. You can then have a touch screen which lists menu items. The bonus prize is that they can add a microphone and you can use speech recognition to make queries like recipes, food purchases, and the recognition software can identify who is in the room as well as provide an audio feed to who knows where.

If this stuff was made in USA...there would be a lot more whistle-blowers. One has to wonder if that isn't the impetus, at least in part, for off-shoring our manufacturing.

The spookware goes inside the firmware. When mobile devices are designed, there are some companies that just design the silicon hardware (CPU's, GPU's, video decoders, wi-fi, bluetooth, GSM, 4G). They also provide software device drivers and the firmware that is loaded into the physical hardware circuits by the OS. Vendors like Samsung or Microsoft add their customisations and get the designs turned into hardware which is packaged, integrated and boxed in China. The hardware is manufactured in China, but all the software and firmware is designed across the USA and Europe.
The computer firmware exists below the device drivers and has access to all hardware functionality like internet communications and the main memory space. Think of an office block with sub-basement levels for utility companies and docking bays for cargo containers. No-one will know what they are up to.

Yup, you pretty much summed it up very neatly, and it's probably going to happen before 2030... tick tock

Who do you trust? In one hand we have your source RT news which is a state funded propaganda machine that spews more anti American vitriol then an Icelandic volcano spews lava, and in then we have the CIA-an organization that is as trustworthy as giving your house keys to a cat burglar.

I trust my source-Al Jazeera calls it as they see it but I bet the far right will never cite them as a source because they will claim it sounds too 'muslimy.' Everyone with more then one brain cell knows the CIA and the KBG can't be trusted, but at least the CIA doesn't criminalize homosexual acts, poison detractors or jail anyone who dares to speak out against the Putin "regime."

Al Jazeera (Arabic: الجزيرة‎‎ al-ǧazīrah IPA: [æl dʒæˈziːrɐ], literally "The Island", though referring to the Arabian Peninsula in context[2]), also known as JSC (Jazeera Satellite Channel), is a Doha-based state-funded broadcaster owned by the Al Jazeera Media Network, which is partly funded by the House of Thani, the ruling family of Qatar.[3]

My friend, you may want to familiarise yourself with the actions of Qatar over the last 20 years before you go seeming ignorant.

First, there is NO doubt that the Qatari brand of Wahhabi-copycatism is more authoritarian than Putin's 'regime'.

Next, Qatar is also more than happy to use its money and influence on the wider Middle-Eastern chessboard to fund and support violent Islamists in various arenas and propagate their fundamentalist doctrine to further their own interests.

Next, Al Jazeera notoriously slants its coverage in favour of Qatar and its allies in the GCC and to an extent their wider allies like the US.

Don't even start on the moral superiority of the CIA because people will think you're being sarcastic or something. The CIA would sacrifice babies if they felt it would further their agenda (I'm sure they have done indirectly).

I'm no fan of the Russian government but details need to be fair.

I don't know what are you on about, I posted a Wikileaks article, however, it's banned on ATS, so I copy-pasted a link from a news website in order to prove that it's actually NEWS and not my imagination.

I don't really trust any news agency, certainly wouldn't trust Al Jazeera lol. BBC, CNN, RT and everybody else posted roughly the same article about Vault 7.
