I know we have the disaster and conspiracy related forums, but it wouldn't hurt to have a general weather forum. Forecasting info, real local reports from members, pictures. ...... anything?
I enjoy weather, extreme or regular, good old observations, and my life is mostly dictated by weather anyway (I work outdoors and live remote). so it would be nice to have a regular weather forum. Anyone else?
Thanks

Weather related threads go under the Fragile Earth Forum.

I know about fragile earth, I was curious about a regular weather forum- not fracking caused problems, chemtrails, ufo's and gods...and doom porn.
Just weather.

As a huge weather Nerd got to say that it would be nice to have a separate area. However would it get used very often and be removed due to lack of use.

I'm in.

And I bet a lot of other members would like it too. I think there may even be a few real meteorologists among the membership which would give us access to some very knowledgable posts.

My brother-in-law is a research meteorologist who works primarily for NASA. He's got some great insights regarding long term weather trends as well as having studied and visited a number of extreme weather locales over the years like Greenland, Iceland and the Amazon. I've already used him as an expert source in a few weather related threads here when questions arose that I thought were in his wheelhouse. He's also somewhat of an expert on the use of LIDAR which crosses into other areas besides weather.

I'll see if he wants to join. He's not averse to discussing conspiracy theories in general although I paint him as a little on the skeptical side. Not always a bad thing...

I hope this actually happens, I'm with you guys on the weather nerd thing. But also I believe there is indeed enough people with intelligence and ability to make it a worthwhile forum.

Thanks guys and gals.

There already is a forum for discussing the weather, it's called Chit Chat.

I am aware of the 4 different forums you can discuss weather in. I'm looking to start a dedicated weather forum.

I think it is a great idea! i would love to read about personal local experiences concerning the weather! maybe it could also include weather pertaining to gardening? or maybe i am just getting too excited thinking of a weather forum.

Gardening weather wood be a great topic! I've been pacing back and forth waiting for spring in anticipation of starting my garden, unfortunately it's -21 here right now with the wind. But you have a great idea- a lot of people don't know when it's safe to start seedlings, or when the frost has finally left....
Thanks!

Thanks!
I love weather pics too. I live in an area that has pretty extreme and oddly localized weather patterns. It can be frustrating to work and live in, but it's awesome for viewing or playing. We might have a blizzard where I'm at, yet 3 miles away-nothing. Or vice versa. Anyhow, it's definitely interesting.
