THIS MORNING!

My parents have just emailed me this straightout of kuwait!

"Went shopping to the City Centre (its a shopping complex) and whilst I was there I receive a phone call to stay at the centre and the driver was on his way to pick us up, on no account were we to go outside as there was a full blown gun fight going on. We heard sirens but saw nothing. Our driver arrived we were taken straight to the bus and the curtains were drawn and we were driven back to our apartments."

"there have been some shootings of western people and we have been told to be a bit more vigilant as to where we go etc. its all to do with the elections in Iraq and they are trying to target Americans but cant distinguish between British and Americans. "

looks like the Kuwaitis are getting annoyed at the americans too

Actually its a raid in progress by Kuwaiti special forces on Iraqi insurgents who were using Kuwait as a staging post for attacks on the borders.
