After turning over the fourth, and final Mi-25 gunship, India and Afghanistan are now in talks to return a number of Russian built aircraft and
helicopters that have been grounded to flying status.
A team was in Afghanistan recently to assess 40-50 helicopters and "a number of" An-32s. Talks are expected to take place between India,
Afghanistan, and Russia at the upcoming Heart of Asia talks. Afghanistan has not asked for new equipment, and Russia would be required to supply some
parts and possibly technical assistance for some of the aircraft.
