Mumia Abu-Jamal's Case

Free Mumia....

I say this because it was a time when J Edgar Hoover's FBI was prosecuting and framing Black Panther Party Members. And also because Mumia's gun wasn't the murder weapon.

EDIT: They denied his request to represent himself.

Facts about Mumia's 1982 trial:

1. The policeman was killed with a 44 caliber gun. Abu-Jamal's gun which he was licensed to carry as a night-time taxi driver, was a 38 caliber.

5. William Singletary, a Vietnam veteran and local businessman, saw the whole incident and has testified that Abu-Jamal was not the shooter. However, the police forced him to change his story and intimidated him into leaving Philadelphia
   
6. Other key witnesses, such as Veronica Jones -- who now testifies in support of Abu-Jamal, were harassed into giving false testimony. Two prosecution witnesses were given special favors, including exemption from criminal prosecution, for their testimony.
   

Elements in an unfair trial:

1. The Judge, Albert Sabo, sentenced more people to death than any other sitting judge in the US.
   
2. The public defender didn't interview a single witness in preparation for the trial, and didn't have funds for defending a capital case.
   
3. The prosecutor removed 11 qualified African Americans from the jury. He also argued for the death penalty because of Mumia's membership in the Black Panther Party, a practice later condemned as unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court.
   
4. The racial bias of Philadelphia's courts has resulted in 120 people on death row, all but 13 were black.
   

No, that 44 cal. thing comes from the coroners guess, who is not a ballistics expert and said that he never intended for that to be "official". The ballistics experts said it was a 38 cal. round, specifically fired from his gun, a Charter arms revolver that rifled their barrels with 8 lands and grooves. The ballistics experts supported this and did not dispute over it with the prosecution.

Why did Singletary originally say he saw nothing? Kinda fishy if you ask me.

The bit about the police not coming forward about hearing his confession appears to be true, but how does that explain that the hospital security guard, black mind you, testified she heard him say he shot him and hoped he dies. Only later, to have her half brother submit a statement through Jamals lawyer saying that was false. Once again, weird don't you think?

Again, Singletary originally said he saw nothing, he changed his story later. Four witnesses who SAW the shooting, pointed to Jamal as the shooter. Explain away.
