Howcome everytime someone goes against the powerful few they get sexual crimes thrown against them suddenly? Assange, Trump, etc. The real criminals have clear records and America loves them. Need someone out of the FBI or CIA? Simple. He touched or raped a girl. Problem solved.

Just a theory, don't judge me(I'm probably sitting out this election, I'll let y'all decide). I've just witnessed to many generals and politicians dismissed over sexual allegations rather than be dismissed for any other reason. Is sexual abuse "the go" to offense to fire someone? Probably. Can't set someone up for murder too easily I'm thinking.

Good observation. I think it's because we live in a cultural environment that tells us to believe a woman's accusations even without proof. These kinds of deeds are done in the dark behind closed doors and there is generally no eye witnesses.

Rape and sexual harrassment is a horrid thing to be accused of, so even if it isn't true, the one accused becomes tainted with just the accusation and ensuing suspicion. Mission accomplished!

Take pedophilia, for instance. That is the absolute worse crime one can commit. Someone accusing an opponent of said perversion plants a seed of doubt and it's all downhill from there.

Admiral Williams is a recent example as well.

He dropped the news that President Obama had made plans to purchase a multimillion dollar home in Dubai.

Suddenly he was shutup/shutdown with a discharge for viewing pornography on his work computer.

The charge does two things:

1 - it forces the individual out of the crowd
2- it discredits all information the individual puts forth

And, as QoS said, the accusation is just as damning as a conviction.
