SEOUL: Thousands of protesters held a candlelight rally in the South Korean capital on Saturday (Oct 29), calling on President Park Geun-hye to step down over allegations that allowed a close personal friend to meddle in state affairs.

South Koreans took to the streets despite a public apology by Park late on Friday. Teenagers in school uniforms, college students, labour activists, and middle-aged couples with young children joined the rally, carrying banners and chanting "step down Park Geun-Hye".

"I came here today to show how angry I am," said Lee Ji-Hu, a 33-year-old housewife from Gimpo, northwest of Seoul, accompanied by her husband and two infant children in strollers. "How can a leader have a shaman, or someone linked to a religious cult as a secret advisor and let her handle state affairs and squander taxpayers' money like that?" Lee said. "I feel so ashamed ... I can't let our country where my children will live be corrupted like this," she added.

Police put the crowd at around 8,000, while organisers said 20,000 people turned out. Similar protests also took place in several provincial cities, including the country's second largest city, Busan.

In other words, people are pissed at the President of South Korean President.

Clearly this is the work of the CIA, and/or these people are all terrorists.

That is if you believe the vocal majority of ATS...and swap South Korea with Syria....

ETA for clarity:
As in, they don't believe that average, normal people could possibly protest against their leader without outside manipulation or terrorist motivations

I made a thread about it yesterday, but it seems ATS is currently only clinton talk.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

This is quite a serious event, and is being silenced everywhere but SK.
It's 24/7 on all news sites there, but here I can barely find any related info.

Given the tension with NK/China this could have a huge impact on the region.

People are tired, and more than willing to protest corrupt leaders.

I'm glad they are, it's about damn time people stood up for themselves and their families.

South Korean government is another puppet regime of the US. What do we call this, the "Asian Spring"?

This seems to go deeper than your standard " us puppet regime" conspiracy.

Thats as deep as deep gets. The story we get here is a lot more shallow. Something about "cronies"?
