One of the first comedians I remember seeing doing stand up. I was in my early teens and he was pretty clean. Also, various stints in Hollywood.


Working the stand-up circuit for 36 years, Meaney began his career in Boston and San Francisco in the 1980s. Taking the stage in loud blazers and bow ties, he made a signature bit from a chirpy, chiding impression of his mother, which punctuated personal anecdotes about tight pants and his childhood resemblance to Wayne Newton.

As a kid or young adult in the 90's. This guy got to my funny bone, BUT THAT'S NOT RIGHT!

Never heard of him before.
After watching those videos, I cannot understand how anyone could find him funny.
That was really hacky comedy.
