Welcome Ozat.

When I first saw your name I thought it was OWZAT!
Imagine my surprise!A cricket loving Scot.

We have quite a few Scots on the board now.I am thinking about an historical re-enactment of Branockburn!...........

..........But wer'e a little afraid that Kegs will not allow the battle to go to historical form.Whereas Cider can't be bothered and Gryffen has refused to treat any blisters on any Sassanach that are a direct result of the conflict.

Your presence will only increase the call for the first ATS convention to be held in Scotland.

North Carolina is spiffy, but bring your sunscreen and an umbrella. The weather here has been flipping between torrential rain and raging sunshing lately, so it's best to have both handy.
Whereabouts in Carolina will you be? I may be able to point you to some fun places.

Theres a saying in Scotland: if you dont like the weather, wait 10 minutes!Sounds like North Carolina is much the same, but sunnier!

Welcome ozat!

Glad you decided to join.

I guess you can tell where I'm from.

Charlotte is in NC, yes.

If you have a couple days to sightsee, I highly recommend making the 1 1/2 hr drive to Asheville and visiting Biltmore Estate. It's this big mansion built by the Vanderbilts a hundred years ago, and it's since been opened to the public as kind of a museum. Here is a link:
www.biltmore.com...
You can walk around at your own leisure, and they also have a winery with free wine tastings (and, if you like wine, it's really good!)

If you want to stay in Charlotte, there are lots of bars/clubs. One of my favorites is the Breakfast Club ( www.that80sclub.com... ) which plays 80s music and is lots of fun. The Hungry Duck is fun, too, as is Bar Charlotte
For food, here's a site that has lots of restaurant info:
www.charlottediningmenu.com...
I recommend: Lupie's, Phat Burrito, JoJo China Bistro, Ri-Ra Irish Pub, Southend Brewery, Crazy Buffet, Penguin, Musashi, and about a million other places. The food here is good, from sushi to hamburgers.

And for something completely different, depending on the weekend you'll be here, I may be able to point you in the direction of some local professional wrestling. This is the best group in the area:
www.mwf-live.com...
(I'm not biased or anything, really!)

Heh, I hope that'll give you something to do while you're here! Let me know if there's anything else you're interested in!
