Scientist have found an organelle -- an enclosed free-floating specialised structure -- inside a primitive cell for the first time. Prokaryotic cells are relative simple cells, without nuclei, such as bacteria. It is believed they evolved first then absorbed other prokaryotes and became eukaryotes -- complex cells that have nuclei and structures like the energy producing mitochondria.

how this exactly challenges evolution... All it's really saying, is that these particular cells may not have evolved quite the way they originally thought they did... I may be missing something here, but it seems to challenge the theories behind the evolotion of pathogens (which are known for rapid and drastic mutation) vs. the evolution of animals... Just that it makes a better article headline I guess...

I thought cell's billion's of year's old didn't leave fossil's ? How can they see one of the first cell's? Wouldn't that make it billion's of year's old? I dunno .... sound's confusing to me

What it challenges is the theory of 'cell evolution' which does go 'hand-in-hand' with TOE.

You know, I think the proponents of evolution challenge it enough on their own.

I never will forget in 1997 I was substitute teaching a junior high science class and the teacher had left a video on evolution that she wanted me to show to the class. So this was a full-blown TWO HOUR (I was supposed to show the first half on my day, and then she would show the second half the following day) documentary/educational video developed specifically for teaching the THEORY (see how I pick up on that) of evolution.

I will try to quote as best as my little anemic brain can recall:

A certain portion of the video concerned a honeybee that scientists had found in a lump of amber (yeah, what Jurassic Park was based on). They extracted the DNA of this (they claim) 40 million year old preserved honeybee. They then compared the DNA of that honeybee with the modern honeybee. And the statement (I SWEAR) in the video was: "The DNA of the modern honeybee was almost identical to the preserved honeybee." And then they just go on preaching the gospel according to Garp!

HELLO!!!!! New rule people, when you're talking at least one of us has got to be paying attention! Were you not listening when you contradicted yourself???

So we can surmise from the mouths of the evolutionists themselves one of the following:

1.) in 40 million years, there is no detectable evolutionary evidence in DNA, OR
2.) we can all look forward to evolving into HONEYBEES...because apparently, they're the perfect species
