How many roommates were on the TV show, "The Young Ones"?

I've seen a video on YouTube that is making me question my memory again.

ehhh four I thought, but maybe there were 5. I Think one was kind of quiet, background, supporting character......

Oh my word, I'll trade you info! I've been trying to remember the name of this show and you just reminded me but I do remember that there were four of them.

Although he did not live in the house and was not in every episode Alexi Sayle was considered to be one of the young ones and his picture was on the logo at the beginning.

Cliff Richards was always there in spirit

There is an extra housemate seen in a few scenes in the first few episodes, hair covering the face, lounging under the stairs and in the background. Very hard to notice, till you notice it. Spooky!

I never noticed it until I knew what to look for, apparently the team intended to have it as a running thing, and also the main bloke has used a 'hidden secret silent' character that's almost impossible to notice in his later projects.

I'd have never noticed until I knew of it.

loved that show,lucky enough to see bottom live also,ade and rik were comedy genius.

rik went way too soon,was hoping they mite bring it back some day
