I actually believe third parties and independants are our democracys last hope.

Me too.

There is supposed to be a blackout of all campaign or party ads 2 days before the election? I wonder if that extends to non-party based advertising. If that is so and I had the money I would love to put some ads on the day before the elections to promote minor parties and independents, not any particular one but as a public service announcement. You would do more good with a few hundred thousand in those two days than all the millions the major parties are spending in the 8 weeks leading up to the election.

Many of us over 40 no longer recognize the country we grew up in and are now awake to the fact that neither major party represents nor cares for ordinary Australians anymore.

In the last 6 years we have lost 100,000 manufacturing jobs and 50,000 mining jobs both parties are equally worthless at saving decent jobs or creating them. Both parties let muslim immigration continue unabated despite the fact they are now building ghettos, dont assimilate and are mostly permanently on welfare(refugees not legitimate migrants). Both leaders usurped Prime Ministers, both think they have a divine right to rule both have hinted after superannuation they may well come after your savings.

The lesser of two evils is still evil and this time I am not voting for it,my strategy will be to pick responsible small party and independant Senators to hopefully block either sides excesses,if this means a log jam so be it,perhaps it best as little as possible legislation gets passed.

Third parties and independants are about the only hope left, does anyone else feel the same?

I agree. For so long as either of the major parties get elected nothing will change the trends that have happening for the last 20 years will continue. Labour and liberal are the two wings of the same bird of prey/

Our only real hope for the restoration of the constitution, the restoration of common law, restoration of our rights and privacy lie with the small and mico parties. However, even then nothing is assured because these people will be easily intimated if they get visited in their offices by faceless suits who tell them what laws and cant be passed, amended or repealed otherwise they might end up child porn on their computers or a member of their family will meet with a nasty accident.

When people get given a choice between a bullet or the suitcase they tend to start shaking and want out. Not saying that is what will happen or is happening but then again the terms of TPP will become apparent in the next few years and the people will realize the govt above govt is very real and will start to ask how it even got to be signed.

Fair to say i am past the point of believing a single word of the rubbish these "elected leaders" espouse, money rules the roost and it comes far before the needs let alone wants of the average joe, here in Aus like any other western democracy we are under the money rulers law......

Or just actually vote for minor parties and leave the major parties blank. Be part of the solution, even if the minor parties make a balls up of it, the plans of the major parties to sell our country off and weaken our security will be bumped back a few years.
edit on 7/6/16 by Cinrad because: (no reason given)
