Curtain Calls

The lights dim, and then fade away,
The music ends as the curtain falls,
The last performance of the cabaret,
The final scene...the curtain call.

The lights shines upon the stage,
The curtains part, the show begins.
The first performance of a new age,
That continues where the other ends.

And you and I, well, we play our parts,
Of a script given to us way back when.
Established actors of the performing arts,
From the first scene until the very end.
