Hello,
I'm hoping someone here can help me get into a PDF that I created several years ago. It's a regular PDF and it says it's password protected, but I don't remember putting a password on it. It's a book I wrote and I want to put it on Amazon to sell in e-book format, but I can't do that until I edit the format.

Is there a way to open the file without the password?
I have Windows 7 Ultimate, and use FireFox browser, if that makes any difference.

im sure there is a cool hacker way to do this, but what i would do is revisit your mind from 7 years ago and remember what passwords you did use for other things maybe your memory will be jogged

Ummm... this was 18 years ago. I can't remember that far back, or I would have already tried that.

Also, forgot to mention it's an Adobe PDF. I can't even see a place there to enter a password if I knew it.

How do I find where to put the password?

Just a shot in the dark for you.

Upload it to zamzar.com BLT and try converting it to document. Give a valid email as they will send you a download link, probably in a few minutes, if they are able to convert it. It is free, by the way, and has a 50MB limit.

That might at least give you access to the text inside. I think I have done that before, but can't remember - old age and senility have already set in.

Few different methods in this wiki how..

m.wikihow.com...

Sites like pdfunlock.com have a file size limit, If your file is under 5mb that should work.

That's a driver updater. Is that what you meant to send me? How will that help me get my password, and where in the world is the place to enter my password when I get it? I don't see any place to enter it.

I'll fool with this tomorrow. My brain is starting to fizzle out now; computers do that to me.

I would recommend starting with beer, then switching to vodka.

I downloaded this free trial version, but it says the free trial output will contain water marks, and there is a box that asks for my registration key. It didn't give me one, so I can't even use the free trial.

I tried the ABC PDF Unlocker. It says it unlocked it, but I still can't edit my file. Adobe pops up and says I have to purchase the Edit program. Sigh...

I'll keep playing around with it later. I have to leave for the day, so it will be tonight before I have time to work anymore with this.

You're next.
