Entertainer Ronnie Corbett, best known for BBC comedy sketch show The Two Ronnies, has died aged 85.
His publicist said: "Ronnie Corbett CBE, one of the nation's best-loved entertainers, passed away this morning, surrounded by his loving family.

To those who are unaware he was one half of one of the most loved comedy duo's in the UK.

Ronnie Barker his long time comedy partner passed away in 2005.

Ronnie Corbett was a true legend and altough their comedy is old it is still very funny.

RIP

In this famous scetch Corbett plays the shop keeper and Barker plays the customer.

Lol. That's sketch was brilliant. I missed out on this gem. R.I.P.
This has been a bad year for top celebrity passings.

They were from a time when swearing and insults were not considered comedy so innuendo and word play was more important.

This is one of Ronnie Corbetts most famous sketches, Might be a little English at points but pretty funny none the less.

It will be a small casket, considering the scale of the loss the nation will feel at his passing. I always made sure to catch The Two Ronnies, when they played repeats of the show in the nineties. I was only a lad, but I found them to be hilarious as a duo. Their like will probably never be seen again, mores the pity.

Hoist a glass, wherever you might be, to a true legend and a proper gent!

And Ronnie...do not be too upset that they didn't send two angels for you, as is traditional. You are only a little chap, so more than one would be an improper use of resources!

Pity he's gone

He was a comic genius who's managed to keep up with the world as it changed.

Apparently he was only 5 foot 1 and when he did national service he was the shortest commissioned officer in the British Forces.
