A new ISS camera will focus on capturing bright meteors in Earth's atmosphere, as detailed in this story --

spaceflightnow.com...

The instrument will add another window for cataloguing and characterizing sudden transient light bursts outside the station. It may well provide useful observations related to claims of UFOs supposedly observed from the station, so it's worth paying attention to.

In the past, NASA announcers have referred to meteors in some shuttle videos, probably bad guesses in response to fast-moving bright dots nearer the spacecraft.

More eyes are always better.

Tuesday’s launch will be the third try to send METEOR to the International Space Station. The first instrument was destroyed in the Antares rocket accident in October 2014 and the flight spare was lost in the Falcon 9 failure in June 2015.

If it doesn't make it this time, they'll have to change its name to the CURSED instrument.

On the other hand, there are some people in our online community here that might say that The-Powers-That-Be don't want this camera installed on the ISS.
