I haven't been on ATS for sometime, but when I logged in and reviewed some of my previous posts in the collabrative fiction section, I noticed all my
quotes were changed to question marks. Any idea why? Very odd.

I remember seeing a post by SO somewhere that addressed that issue...
It has do to with the server switchover...I'll see if I can find it...
edit:hmmm - can't seem to find it...
edit 2: I've also noticed these symbols - - popping up here and there...or is that what you're talking about loam??

If you copy that synbol and paste it into a search engine like Yahoo...It breaks it down into this:
& # 655 33 ; (without the spaces)
Which is called a Unicode value...and that's about as much as I know on that end.....lol

I had a similar problem, but not in ATS. Mine was with the Pixy Folk site that I set up a few years ago and recently updated.
I can only assume its caused by control characters appearing in the original code (I wrote the site using text files converted to HTML)

The new server is not configured to accept "special characters" such as those created when you copy-and-paste (without attention to detail) from
Microsoft Word. "Curly Quotes" and similar Microsoft Word baddies are a terrible thing for a site with an automated XML RSS feed.
