Recent Diagnosis of Rosacea and an accidental Treatment that reversed it.

About four months ago I began having these large red areas around my nose. I went to my physician and she says it is Rosacea.

She said there is no cure for rosacea and the cause is unknown. she further stated medical therapy is available to control or reverse its signs and symptoms but I need to go to a specialist. like a dermatologist or other knowledgeable physician for diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

She has to put in a request and my insurance has to approve it. Usually takes 45 days.

Well as I was waiting, I was tiring of the severe case of Dandruff I had been suffering from. Over the last year I have tried all the anti-dandruff shampoos none worked. My naturalpathic Dr suggested some herbal remedies and such nothing worked. Tiring of spending money and over 8 months to see no result but getting worse. (It was during this time the Rosacea developed.)

I asked a friend who is a doctor what I could do. He told me to get a bottle of Nazarol dandruff treatment and for 14 days shampoo my hair with it leaving it on for 10 minutes before rinsing. I bought the large bottle and started the regime 9 days later I noticed that the Rosacea was almost gone and my dandruff was a lot less. After 14 days the Rosacea is gone and so is my dandruff.

It is over 16 days and no dandruff. My friend says to use it once a week here after and have my blood checked for fungus.

I have a friend that swears by Selsun Blue to treat slight eczema on her body.

It sounds like your face had a fungal infection as well. This is commonly misdiagnosed as rosacea.

Did you face get dry around the areas?

Go to your chemist and get some antifungal cream, not the stuff with steroids in as well as this can thin the skin on the face.

It's just a couple of bucks to buy over the counter. Treat your face 4 times a day for a couple of weeks and it should stay away.

These little demodex buggers can be a reason as well: rosacea.org...

I do believe fungal/rosacea/demodex all go hand in hand. Not saying that once you get one reason that you get all, but only that there is most likely a correlation.

The eczema attacks I have had on torso have responded so-so with Head & Shoulders when I am trying to nip it before it gets out of control.

I just googled and it's actually Nizoral.

Thanks and I will try nazarol. When I asked my MD about the growing redness, on my neck and face, she said it was because I am a white guy. I didn't like that answer much at all but couldn't afford a specialist, so this is welcome.

Apple Cider vinegar was the only thing I had luck with getting rid of my dandruff. I didn't put it on my face though. I have red, dry patches around my nose too. My doctor just said it's eczema.

I really don't think you want to put vinegar near your eyes

Sounds like a fungal infection as another user stated. In Hawaiian we call it kane. Selsun blue is used to treat it.

I am sure if was fungal but it had been diagnosed by a licensed physician as Rosacea.

The question is how many people are there out there that have been diagnosed with Rosacea and it is not, and are living miserable lives because they are suffering more and more as the fungus takes over their bodies?

i have numerous times been overjoyed with success ,only to have my illness return with avengence.

when a doctor tell you there is no cure, theyre not saying it for dramatic effect.

I have used Selsun Blue for a huge variety of minor skin ailments with excellent results.

Yeah, I swear on Selsun Blue they way some people swear on Windex.
