So I have been thinking about this for some time now. The fascination with the American public and their impossible adoration of Donald "The Mouth" Trump. I think I have it figured out and we can thank reality (oxymoronic) television for this.

He might as well have one of the Kardashians as his VP running mate, this would probably guarantee a win no matter what party platform they run on.

What is beyond my comprehension is how in the heck anyone could want this obvious "blowhard" as the leader of what is supposed to be the most powerful nation on the planet. If America elects this guy they will be considered the opposite, they will become the laughing stock of this planet.

Where are all the great politicians? When is the last time we really had a president we could be proud of? If you say JFK, you are mistaken, he just polarizes us because of how he was assassinated. If he was a president in this Internet age pulling the same behavior as he did then , he would be looked at considerably different, more like Bill "Can't Keep It In His Pants" Clinton.

But Trump? Come on! He is the most egocentric, narcissistic, megalomaniac on this planet and he stands for everything the rest of the world hates about America. He is not a diplomatic presence, he is a bully. We need someone who can talk with reason and still be tough minded and be able to make the tough choices, but with class and dignity.

Everything Trump ever built has his name on it. He craves attention. Great! He is a self-made billionaire. You have to ask yourself though, how many people did he "Trump Under A Bus" to get there.

No. I think there has to be a better politician out there that can be POTUS.

People are drawn to him though, maybe, because he has never been a politician in public office. They may think give someone else a try. What he has been though is a private politician that has used his fortune to procure favors and I guarantee having casinos with cameras and any possible seedy individual at his disposal, he has a "boatload" of blackmail material on file.

Maybe he would be better at a different post, say, the head of the CIA or the NSA, but not POTUS.

You said it baglady333,

Trump is a blowhard. You took the words out of my mouth. That describes Trump The Rump perfectly.

PS Love the avatar!

Those are childish characteristics, too.

You know that age when little kids need to be taught to listen, share, wait their turn, not be teasing or bullying others?

Some kids never learn.

Most people judge maturity according to how much someone conforms to the social and economic order. That is not maturity at all. It could mean the person is the worst of the worst, insensitive and cruel; and, in fact, the social order encourages and even coerces people to behave in such a manner, which is the height of immaturity.

So, for our purposes, immaturity is simply behavior coming from someone who only thinks of himself or herself. In other words, they are self-centered, self-absorbed, selfish, uncaring, feel they are better, think you are different, and so on.

A better questions is how anyone could want Hillary, she is far worse.

Her failed policies in the ME are far worse than anything anyone ever did, including Bush.

You now have MILLIONS of refugees streaming across Europe, unprecedented.

I could also talk about her illegal "kickback fund", the Clinton foundation.

Hillary/Madoff for 2016.....PRISON!

LOL

This thread already had me cracking up about the very real possibility of involving a "reality show" idol Americans love so much and your addition just about made me spit out my coffee!

Thank you Augustus!

Baglady you are absolutely correct in your assessment. Trump is quite literally a manifestation of what is wrong with this country, he has bankrupted many companies and is an absurd individual in general. For people to believe he is a strong leader is even more absurd, more like a criminal elite spewing bigoted nonsense he himself probably does not even believe, it is simply a part of the divide and conquer script!

I am sure when he and hilldog get together they are laughing their asses off at the idiot masses thinking their is a difference between them.

Totally agree with everything you said. It says a lot about the morality of some people in this country. I've always said if these same people who support this blowhard ever met someone with his type of characteristics, the majority would probably walk away uttering "what an asshole!"

Everything Trump ever built has his name on it. He craves attention.

You hit the nail on the head with this statement. The names of his buildings explains his character and his need to show-off his wealth and success in everybody's faces! ..."look at my poll numbers'...."I have a lot of money"......"I'm tough"..."I'm smart" (Even though he can't carry on an intelligent or in depth conversation about an issue). His statements really show his narcissistic character.

LOL I would totally vote for a Garrison/Jenner ticket! That made me laugh thanks!

SO I guess it has come down to three maybe four choices, and ALL of them not so great. I am really hoping that Ted Cruz pulls ahead here soon. I like him way more than Trump, and the fact that the establishment hates him gets him a +1.

I think most D voters are looking at Hillary and really getting nervous. The alternative is to feel "The Bern" and that probably makes them nervous as well. That leaves Trump, and I have a feeling that a good chunk of D voters will turn to him if it's between The Bern and The Donald. Once they start to debate policy I think people will see the awful potential in Bernie's plans.

My whole perspective this election, has been looking for the candidates that are OUTSIDE the current political establishments on either side of the aisle. I think Trump would be more likely to select a VP that is currently running for President.

Only if they build their really really high northern wall. And we're not paying for it either.
Hopefully we don't have to release our ice Dragons...

If Trump gets in, I wonder how he's going to be with all the various politicians and journalists from around the world, that have called him an idiot....

Imagine a Donald Trump/Don Rickles ticket, affectionately known as "The Dons".

Their slogan: "We insult everybody!"

All bases covered. It'll be the trashiest ticket in town.

How do you know if he is showing his true personality? From the interviews and a couple documentaries I have seen of him, it seems he may just be playing the roll of a hardcore businessman. Putting his name on his buildings could just be his way of advertising his company. Trump uses his name as a brand, and it seems to have served his success quite well.

Trump's style may not be classy, but he gets results, hence his leading the polls. He said from the start that he is in this to win. Well, how do you win elections in the USA? You cater to the largest segment of the population, which is well pleased with the kinds of simple remarks Trump makes. For example: When he speaks against minorities, he realises that they are only a small percentage of the vote, and that he will get extra votes from the white majority that more than compensate the loss of minority votes.

Trump is playing this brilliantly. The big question, however, is what he's gonna do once and if he becomes president..

Intelligent hardcore business men don't talk like an ignorant school boy. They think before they talk. Insulting and bullying people doesn't help you in the business world. I've had some experience in that area since I once owned a small business. Nobody wants to conduct business with an asshole unless you have no other choice.

Putting his name on his buildings could just be his way of advertising his company. Trump uses his name as a brand, and it seems to have served his success quite well.

That's all well and good, except for the fact it's not just buildings he puts his name on. He also has put his name on a state park in New York. That's going a little overboard don't you think? If you put 2 and 2 together, it may very well be a great marketing strategy, but after listening to how he's so full of himself, I doubt very much that was his initial intentions.

Trump's style may not be classy, but he gets results, hence his leading the polls. He said from the start that he is in this to win. Well, how do you win elections in the USA? You cater to the largest segment of the population, which is well pleased with the kinds of simple remarks Trump makes.

I see the type of voters he's attracting at his town hall meetings. Some are clearly mean spirited, and others are willing to ignore what comes out of his mouth just to elect someone into office who isn't part of the system. That to me is not only dangerous for our country, but it's also a poor reflection on a country's moral beliefs and how we respect and treat people.

Trump is playing this brilliantly.

I think you're giving him too much credit. Trump is being Trump and more than anything, his celebrity status is what's giving him a following more than his knowledge of the issues and his credentials of being POTUS.
