Iran is likely to emerge as a member of a coalition fighting Isis in the aftermath of the Paris massacre, according to senior diplomatic sources.

This morning Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani telephoned his French counterpart to stress the “crucial importance to fighting against terrorism and Daesh [Isis] with all our might”, as he expressed his condolences over the deaths.

Iran has now dozens of advisors on the ground in Syria as well as it's 24/7 recon drone support .

I personally don't think it's enough . people don't think it's enough . as you might know ISIS has for several occasions threatened Iran with terrorist operations :

thats why Iran , was engaged much more directly iraq and she used her fighter jets in a non-stop bombing campaign until she secured her borders with Iraq .

For now , engaging directly in Syria is impossible for Iran due to geographical location of Iran and presence of potentially hostile Air Forces in Syrian Air Space .

If Iran chooses to join this coalition , she will bring hell on earth for ISIS in Syria and she did the same in Iraq .

at least thats what people want . cause they don't want to see the title :

"ISIS attack on tehran" .

Tnx , but no Tnx .

Great to see the Iranian leader extending his hand into this fight as well. The Iranians are a unique people and Iran is one of the few places in the Islamic world where Christian, Jew and all other religions are respected. Its people, especially the young work hard and its a country that has survived every effort to destroy it made by America and Israel.

I hope this works out and Iran joins in the fight. Its about time someone from the ME stood up to Saudi influence and mischievous meddling and manipulation they are spreading, via the building of mosques everywhere with their imans peddling their nasty brand of islam with its crucification and street stoning spectaculars which will take us all backwards into another dark age, if we don't stand up to them and their strange allies.

Tnx bro .

truth be told , many other Islamic countries are interested in fighting the Good fight as well , but fact is , that they cannot .

they either are consumed in their internal security issues like Egypt or are not capable of posing a real threat to ISIS which has grown like a cancer .

Fighting such groups is extremely hard .

Syria had one of the most capable armies among Islamic countries , and look what happened to them !

Great! We need a coalition of Muslim countries to do the ground work...that way it is Muslims on the ground taking out ISIS; which takes the steam out of ISIS attempt to pit Muslims against the western civilizations. Let the US (and other western countries) provide air support & logistics, but Moderate Muslims MUST step up and deal with the trash in their own backyard.

I'm pretty sure Iran has been in Syria for years now fighting against ISIL.

We have been . but not as directly as the way we fought ISIS in Iraq .

as it's apparent enough , the campaign against ISIS has not been enough

Yaay!
I hope they will help to the extant they can!
I have family in Iran and I don't want them to get hurt! Nor the people in general.

Iran is already a member of the coalition against ISIS its just that it isn't advertised.

Western/Iran relations can be summed up like this, they shout at each other over the table and shake hands under it when it comes to ISIS.

I couldn't imagine Iran's AF in such a contested area. Certain nations near by might want to pop a shot at them so to speak. Not to mention any names of course *cough* Israel *cough*

Iran is already in the coalition with Russia and Syria.

It’s the US that is stopping a world wide powerful coalition of nations to wipe out ISIS

In -fact the French wants Russia, the US and them to form this powerful coalition to take out ISIS but the US refuses to do this

The neocon influence on the US doesn’t really want a coalition with Russia and Iran or Syria.

There the ones playing politics with peoples lives and preventing the world coming together and stopping ISIS

That’s why Obama, like Nero, fiddles as Rome burns

There are three presidents I have listened to and like which has nothing to do with any conjecture against them. I'm going by my own intuitive assessment. Time will tell.

Putin, Rouhani and Assad. I would like to include the U.S.'s president, and others, but I cannot. If they begin doing the right things, correct their errors, and their integrity becomes apparent I will change my mind.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to kill your thread! My comment about the three presidents I mentioned must have been distasteful to some. It wasn't meant to be. I'm very intuitive and my intuitions can often not be in alignment with popular thought. Peace.
