With Roma migrants, poverty returns to Sweden

STOCKHOLM (AP) — The evacuation of a squalid Roma camp this week has forced Sweden to come to terms with a troubling new reality: For the first time in generations, the egalitarian welfare nation is witnessing people living in abject poverty, without basic amenities such as electricity and running water.

They sleep on sidewalks, wrapped in blankets on cardboard boxes or in makeshift homes made of plywood, metal and sheets of plastic. They eke out a living by panhandling and recycling bottles and cans.

Until recently, Swedes had only seen such misery up close on foreign travels or in black-and-white photos from the 19th century, before the country became a semi-socialist society with a famously small gap between rich and poor.

All I can say is it true Sweden never had poverty before?

First off sweden is not a welfare nation, second its not true that theres was never poverty in sweden before.

The Nordic nations fought the Christians, the protestants, and they still kept there identities as ancestors of the famous vikings, but now the evil Muslims and poor gypsies will destroy them.

Sweden has a program and education in Roma societies in Romania, to give their young ones a chance of working and getting a fairly decent life in Sweden. And if you didnt know, the Romas follows a righteous King or a queen.
I think you get the mythology behind it, have fun in the future

there is not a single country that has no problems with romas.
problems are as usual:
don't want to adapt.
remain among themselves.
don't learn the original language.
often reject education, especially for the girls.
which leads to crime.

is this how integration should work?

The most of them will adapt in the century, they will find a union of religious leadership and schooling, the schooling is practical not theoretical.. The coming Roma leadership is not a friendly person..
